For the longest time, I handled pretty much everything at home. But since moving to a different city after a long time, I’ve had to mentally adjust and let my little brother take on most of those responsibilities. It’s this weird feeling calming, but also a little unsettling. Like realizing you’re not as irreplaceable as you thought.
But this week i had to go back to taking care of things like i use to due to some uncertain circumstances back home so in a weird way i am still needed but not needed at the same time. so i am in the state of feelingsss whiplash, if thats even a term.

        Hi @blitzy,

First of all thank you for choosing to share your wisdoms with me. I deeply appreciate the support that you give me at all times.

I have known you for quite some time now and I strongly feel that you are a person of values. You have a strong ethical moral compass and clarity in family values.

I have also seen you taking care of your family. Actually, it’s well assumed that your family unit is tightly knit together. Your brother, father and yourself have long held each other’s backs and faced this amazing world.

With you moving to a different city only implies your passion to per-sue avenues of growth and yet you cannot be at two places in one time, except if you are Hermoini Granger, 🤣 !!!

As it is expected to know that your close knit family survival tactic is sure to take a hit with you leaving however the people who you think are left behind are only working extra to allow you for your adventures. You can easily count on your father but with your younger brother, it is only fair to assume that you think of him as a little brother and still see him struggle for the parts and responsibilities that you took upon yourself when you were there.

It’s this weird feeling calming, but also a little unsettling. Like realizing you’re not as irreplaceable as you thought.

I wonder what makes you challenge your replacement. Would you like to share some instances where you felt like it? I’d like to understand your perspective here.

i am still needed but not needed at the same time. so i am in the state of feelingsss whiplash, if thats even a term.

🤣 This is epic. Need is a strong word which surely dwells on relativity. I believe as long as we are available people always need us to their means and as we distant ourselves from them we are soon forgotten. It’s quite natural. Do you not experience the same with other? I’d like to hear your perspective on this as well!

Again, thank you for sharing and sparking my curiosity!

          Couple of times
          – Cooking and preparing food, i kept it at a pretty tight schedule thinking both of them simply don’t have time or energy to devote for it but they quickly adapted and had it all under control within a week, most of the time when i go to visit home now i have very little to do in this department.
          – Managing things outside the house, Nishant has fully taken over this charge and is even more efficient at it than me xD
          – Planning of big house purchases etc
its pretty much small things like this, overall its not a bad feeling rather a fleeting thought of how easily can life go on for other even if you are not there anymore.
I am gonna leave the video that made me thing of all these thoughts to begin with – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdZBRuQnW5k (best game every you should totally play it)

It is nice to see the little ones grow, isn’t it? A moment when they asked you for things to moment when they do it on their own to another moment where they surprise you how well they can do it.

I envy you for having a brother. I never had a pleasure to have a brother in blood. But I do have a sister but that is a whole different set of affairs. The lives too far from me. I hardly get a few talks per week.

I have recently come to know of a dialog that said, “When someone living in our hearts leave us, it generates a void but that void exists perpetually only to be filled by another adventure”. I am yet to analyse this dialog and establish is credibility but it does imply on face value.

I say, “When you are not there, you are here”, if that makes any sense, 🤣…
