The Mirrored Permit

Permission given to another is actually a permission given to myself…

Realised at the time of caring for my mum through her cancer, I came to see that permission isn’t really granted to the other person — it’s permission I give myself to accept their action and its consequences.

    • I don’t think so. I’ll try explaining by an example.

My Son (his younger version), ask for my permission to go for an overnight stay at his friends house where they intend to first watch a movie, then play some video games, eat during the process and then sleep. He intends to return home after next day’s breakfast.

When I am permitting him to do it. I believe I am actually permitting my self to let him do what he has asked for and I am ready to deal with any consequences that may arise of his quest. I accept the challenge to see it through.
